The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Assocation named Kalamazoo College's Ryan Orr the conference's Pitcher of the Week for a second consecutive week Monday afternoon. On Tuesday, Orr was named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week.
Orr, a sophomore from DeWitt, collected the MIAA Player of the Week honor again after tossing a complete-game no-hitter in his only outing of the week. He secured the Hornets' 2-0 victory on the road at Olivet Saturday by registering nine strikeouts while not allowing a walk, hit or run.
Orr faced the minimum number of batters and only racked up 67 pitches in his seven innings of work.
In his last two starts combined, Orr has surrendered just one run and struck out 17.
The Hornets and Orr will take a break from MIAA action this Tuesday when they travel to Ohio Northern for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
