ADRIAN, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader at Adrian on Friday, dropping the first game 1-0 and the second 7-3.

Game One

Adrian scored the game's only run in the bottom of the sixth inning and then retired the Hornets in order in the seventh to secure the win in the first game of the series.

With two outs in the bottom of the sixth Adrian singled and then advanced to second on a throwing error. The next batter doubled home the runner for the only run of the game.

Adrian finished with five hits in the game compared to three for Kalamazoo. Joe Giacalone pitched five strong innings for the Hornets, allowing just three hits while striking out five and hitting one.

Todd Bonnivier doubled for Kalamazoo while Jordan Wiley and Stefan Leclerc also reached on singles.

Game Two

Adrian put a run on the board in the third and fourth innings to take a 2-0 lead early. Another run in the seventh put Adrian up 3-0, but the Hornets found their offense in the top of the eighth to start a rally.

They loaded the bases to set up Connor Grant who singled to right center to bring Jordan Wiley and Chase Coselman home. Alex Fultz followed that up with a sacrifice fly to drive in Stefan Leclerc and tie up the game 3-3.

K left two runners on base, however, and that came back to bite them as Adrian scattered five hits to score four runs in the bottom of the eighth. A fly out and two strikeouts ended the Hornets chances and gave Adrian the 7-3 win.

Ryan Orr surrended two runs and struck out one in four innings of work, but Ryan Franklin took the loss in relief for K.

The two teams were scheduled to play the final two games on Saturday, but those have been rescheduled to Monday, April 2 due to weather.
