Baseball takes two on Senior Day

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team swept Olivet 9-0 and 14-7 on Senior Day Saturday.

Game One

Kalamazoo took advantage of a five-run fourth inning to defeat Olivet 9-0 in game one. Kalamazoo led 3-0 after three innings.

Ryan Orr earned his eighth win of the season while striking out 12 and walking none. Orr struck out the last eight batters he faced before exiting to a standing ovation with two outs in the seventh.

Orr also went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.

Chase Coselman had two hits including a double and an RBI with three runs scored.

Zacy Prystash had a triple while Connor Grant drove in four runs.

Game Two

Olivet scored two in the first inning but trailed Kalamazoo 8-2 after three innings. The Comets made it 8-4 in the top of the fifth before Kalamazoo scored five more to make it a 13-4 game. Kalamazoo led 14-5 and held that lead until the Comets scored two runs in the ninth.

Jordan Wiley was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs.

Ryan Orr, Alex Fultz and Todd Bonnivier also had three hits each.

Chase Coselman, Josh Reuter and Andre Gard each had two hits. Gard drove in three runs while Coselman drove in two with a double and a triple. 

Joe Giacalone improved to 4-2 with the win in five innings of work.

Kalamazoo and Olivet conclude the season with a doubleheader at Olivet on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
