KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team swept the opening doubleheader with Albion 4-1 and 7-6 at Woodworth Field on Saturday.

Albion led 1-0 after scoring an unearned run in the top of the first inning. The Britons held that lead until the bottom of the fourth when Kalamazoo tied the game on Noah Hecht's RBI single.

Kalamazoo added three runs in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead.

Albion threatened in the top of the sixth with two runners on before Doug Propson closed out the inning keeping the Britons off the board.

Albion had a runner on base in the top of the seventh when Zach Prystash made a great catch at the fence to end the game.

Jack Brockhaus earned his second win of the season allowing just two hits while striking out seven and walking one over five innings. John Kunec came on to get the final two outs in the seventh to earn the save.

Noah Hecht was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Jordan Wiley, Chase Coselman, and Doug Propson each drove in a run.

Game Two

Kalamazoo held on to win the second game 7-6.

Albion took an early lead with two runs in the top of the first inning, but Kalamazoo responded with four runs in the bottom half as Chase Coselman, Noah Hecht, and Ryan Morgan all drove in runs.

Albion made it 4-3 in the second before Kalamazoo scored twice in the third to go up 6-3 behind RBIs by Coselman and Hecht. Brendan Gausselin had an RBI double in the sixth to put the Hornets up 7-3.

Albion scored three runs in the top of the seventh to make it a 7-6 game with the bases loaded and nobody out before Doug Propson came into pitch and struck out three batters to get out of the jam.

Propson also struck out two in the top of the eighth to keep the Britons off the board. Two Britons reached base in the ninth before Propson got the final out to secure the save.

Jacob Gilhaus earned the win with seven strikeouts in six innings of work.
