Baseball Splits with No. 12/13 Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. - Kalamazoo's home doubleheader was moved to Adrian Tuesday night due to field conditions in Kalamazoo. The Hornets were the home team in both games. Adrian won 6-2 in the opener before falling to the Hornets 9-4 in the series finale. It was Adrian's first loss since the Hornets beat them two weeks ago.

Game One

Adrian scored a run in the top of the first, but Kalamazoo answered with two runs in the bottom half. The Hornets held that lead through the fourth when Adrian scored multiple runs in the fifth and sixth innings leading to the 6-2 win.

Ryan Morgan was 2-for-3 to lead Kalamazoo at the plate.

Chase Coselman and Noah Hecht each drove in a run.

Game Two

Adrian got on the board with one in the top of the first before Kalamazoo exploded for six runs in the bottom half of the inning. The Bulldogs responded with two runs in the fifth, but the Hornets tallied two in the sixth and one in the seventh to win 9-4.

Coselman collected a team-high three hits while driving in one run and scoring two more.

Morgan added one more hit to his day and drove in three runs. Hecht also drove in three runs while tallying two hits. 

Doug Propson scored three times and finished 1-3 at the plate. 

John Kunec picked up his first win of the season. Kunec threw two innings and struck out two.

The Hornets are scheduled to host Calvin on Friday, April 19 at 2 p.m.
