Game One

Kalamazoo defeated Hope 8-4 in the first game of the day. The Hornets took a 1-0 lead in the second inning, which switched over to a Hope advantage as the Flying Dutch scored four runs in the bottom of the second.

The Hornets scored one run in the fourth and took back the lead in the fifth inning, as Noah Hecht hit an RBI double and Ben Chosid scored two more with a hit out to right field. They sealed the win with a final run in the top of the seventh brought on by a double from Ryan Morgan. Kalamazoo finished with 11 hits to Hope's four.

Chosid went 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs. Poezsat hit a home run, a double and drove in two runs. Noah Hecht finished with two hits for the Hornets. Doug Propson, Austin Duff and Ryan Morgan also each had doubles.

The two runs would end up being the only ones for Kalamazoo as Hope took the lead with seven runs in the bottom of the first. The Flying Dutchmen went on to score four more runs over the next four innings.
