KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team split the regular season finale with No. 12 Adrian at Woodworth Field on Saturday. After losing the opener 3-0, Kalamazoo won 4-3 on a walk-off double in the 8th in game two.
Game One
Adrian won the first game, 3-0. Adrian scored a run in each of the third, fourth, and fifth innings. The Bulldogs had seven hits compared to six by the Hornets.
Chase Coselman was 3-for-3 to lead the Hornets offensively. Doug Propson had a single and a stolen base.
Game Two
Kalamazoo won the second game 4-3 on a walk-off double in the 8th. Adrian scored two in the first and one in the fifth while holding Kalamazoo scoreless into the seventh. The Hornets had two outs and kept the inning alive following a passed ball by the Bulldogs. Three runs later and the game was headed to extra innings. After holding Adrian scorless in the top of the eighth, Noah Hecht reached base on a hit-by-pitch, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt, then scored on Austin Duff's walk-off double to right center.
Doug Propson, Chase Coselman, Spencer Baldwin, and Amani Karim each had two hits in the game. Karim had a double while Coselman drove in two runs.
Cade Thune earned the win with three innings of scoreless relief.
