Baseball Wins 16-5 at Alma

ALMA, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team won 16-5 in seven innings at Alma on Friday.

Kalamazoo scored multiple runs in each of the first five innings to take a 14-2 lead after five. Kalamazoo added two in the seventh before Alma scored three in bottom half, ending the game with the 10-run rule.

Kalamazoo had 20 hits in the game compared to five by Alma.

Spencer Baldwin tied the school record with six hits, including a double, three RBIs and three runs scored.

Doug Propson had three hits, including a double, with four runs scored.

Harrison Poeszat, Cooper Mills, Max Gordon and Lukas Bolton each had two hits. 

Cooper Mills and Lukas Bolton each had two doubles. Blake Bean and Gordon also doubled.

Tanner Hawkins homered.

Thomas Sylvester started and struck out six in 3.1 innings.

Joe Wade earned the win in relief, not allowing a run in 2.2 innings of work.

Kalamazoo is scheduled to host Alma in a doubleheader Sunday at 1 p.m.
