KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College football team's Homecoming game was spoiled by Olivet with a 55-21 loss to the Comets.

Olivet (7-0 / 4-0 MIAA) took the opening kickoff, but turned the ball over on the first play as Kalamazoo's Dylan Zerki intercepted a pass and returned it to the Olivet 11 yardline. Kalamazoo took advantage right away as Alex White connected with Elijah Hamilton-Wray for a touchdown on the next play.

The Comets responded with a touchdown midway through the first quarter before scoring twice in the second quarter to take a 21-7 lead into halftime.

Kalamazoo scored on its first possession of the second half to cut the deficit to seven (21-14) as White again connected with Hamilton-Wray for a 6-yard touchdown.

The game quickly moved in Olivet's favor, however, as the Comets scored three quick touchdowns to take a 42-14 lead after the third quarter. Olivet scored two more times in the fourth before Kalamazoo added a final score as time expired on a 1-yard run by Dylan Padget.

Alex White finished 11-of-24 passing for 73 yards with two touchdowns. Elijah Hamilton-Wray had six catches for 29 yards with the two scores. Jordan Jabara had three catches for 24 yards.

Ethan Kubik, Brett Lehman, Collin Feilla, K.J. Schultz and Dylan Padget each had one reception.

White was the leading rusher with 31 yards on 10 carries. Hamilton-Wray had 16 yards on seven carries while Clay Wilkey had 13 yards on nine carries.

Dylan Zerki led the defense with 14 tackles and the opening interception. Nana-Yaw Aikins made eight tackles while Quentin Sweeney finished with seven and an interception.

Kalamazoo returns to action at Trine University next Saturday, Oct. 31.
