Zach VanFaussien was selected as the Kalamazoo College Athletic Leadership Council's first men's Hornet of the Week for his performance during the first week of the season.
VanFaussien, a senior from Beverly Hills, Mich. (Groves HS), led the Hornets to a 24-7 win over Oberlin College in the season opener last Saturday. He completed 14-of-25 pass attempts for 149 yards and a touchdown. Zach also rushed for 27 yards, including a 16-yard run where he made several defenders miss on his way to the end zone for the first score of the game. He was also a factor on the Hornets' third touchdown when he made an option pitch to the running back which led to a touchdown.
The football team is back in action at home against Greenville University this Saturday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m.
