Tommy Kartes of the Kalamazoo College football team was named the SAAC Men's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday (Oct. 24).
Kalamazoo traveled to Alma to continue MIAA play on Oct. 21 and was defeated by the Scots 43-10.
Against Alma, Kartes was the leading tackler for the Hornets with 15, as 10 were solo and one was for a loss. He also forced two fumbles, which Raymond Cargill and Ronnie Spencer picked up for Kalamazoo. This is the second time that Kartes has led the team in tackles in a game. On the season, Kartes has totaled 66 tackles (32 solo) to average 9.4 tackles in seven games, which leads the team. He also has 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. The junior now has 103 tackles in 22 career games, with three tackles for loss, a sack, five forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
The Hornets will host Hope to continue MIAA play in the last home game and senior day on Saturday (Oct. 28).
