Jason Porter
Jason Porter
Title: Assistant Coach

Jason Porter joined the Kalamazoo College football coaching staff during the summer of 2017.

Porter’s coaching experience includes stints as a high school head football coach at Kalamazoo Loy Norrix, LaVille (Ind.) and Athens. He has been an assistant football coach at Comstock, Kalamazoo Christian, Hackett Catholic Central and Parchment. In addition to his football coaching experience, Porter has served as head softball coach at Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo Central High School and Schoolcraft High School. He reached the 200-win milestone as a high school softball coach during the spring of 2017 and has coached a combined 10 Academic All-State football and softball teams.

Porter is a Kalamazoo native and graduate of Hackett Catholic Central High School where he played football and baseball. He went on to play two years of football (quarterback) and one year of baseball (3rd base) at Aurora University before completing his bachelor’s degree in education at Western Michigan University in 2001. He also earned a master’s degree in athletic administration/sports management at WMU in 2010.

In addition to coaching, Jason is a physical education/health education teacher in the Kalamazoo Public Schools system. He has three children (Maddox, Trenton, Reagan) and resides in Kalamazoo.
