Men's Basketball falls 92-66 at Alma

The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 92-66 at Alma College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Wednesday.

The Hornets were with seven points (34-27) with 3:05 left in the first half, but a 10-2 run by Alma put the Scots up 15 (44-29) at halftime.

Alma extended the lead early in the second half and maintained its sharp shooting to secure the win.

The Hornets had one of their best shooting nights of the season at 46.2 percent, but Alma had its best night of the season at 58.6 percent. The Scots also hit 8-of-13 three-pointers while Kalamazoo sank 5-of-11. Alma was 16-of-19 at the free throw line compared to 13-of-23 for Kalamazoo.

Alma also held a 33-26 edge in rebounds, with 12 turnovers compared to 16 for Kalamazoo.

Adam Peters led the Hornets with 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting.

Mark Ghafari finished with 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Eric Fishman added 13 points with eight assists.

Coming off the bench was Aaron Schoenfeldt with six points and Carl Ghafari with five points.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Trine on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m.
