Kalamazoo falls to Elmhurst

Adam Dykema playing basketball

ELMHURST, IL. – The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 90-72 to Elmhurst on Tuesday night. The men drop to below .500 this season at 5-6.

The Blue Jays jumped all over Kalamazoo in the beginning of the game and won the first half 47-26. Kalamazoo managed to win the second half 46-43 over the now 10-1 home team.

Adam Dykema was a huge bright spot for the Hornets with a career high 26 points, which were greatly aided by him nailing five three pointers.  Carl Ghafari had 12 points, five rebounds, and two assists, while Adam Peters reached double-digits for the ninth time this season with 12 points.

The Hornets lost the game due to the Blue Jays turning a lot of Kalamazoo turnovers into points and Elmhurst was also very dominant in the paint; outscoring Kalamazoo 32-24.

The Hornets will try and get back to .500 Wednesday, Jan. 7 on the road against conference opponent Albion.
