Hornets fall to Albion on the road

ALBION, MI - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 72-49 to Albion on Wednesday night in its conference opener. The Hornets are now 5-7 overall and 0-1 in MIAA play.

The Hornets hung right with the Britons in the first half due in large part to Adam Dykema and Josh Miller who combined for 16 points and seven rebounds. They both wound up with 14 points a piece when the game was said and done. At halftime Kalamazoo only trailed Albion 27-24.

Albion came out in the second half firing from downtown and used five three point shots to outscore the Hornets in the second half by 20. Kalamazoo was right with them statistically in pretty much every category other than three point shooting.

Carl Ghafari did everything he could to slow down the Britons scoring barrage by picking their pocket four times. Josh Miller owned the boards with eleven. Freshman Charlie Carson had a promising game off the bench with seven points and two rebounds, but it wasn't enough.

The Hornets have now lost three games in a row and will look to turn their fortunes around Saturday January, 10. against Olivet at home.
