Men's Basketball defeated by Illinois Tech

OBERLIN, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 88-79 to Illinois Institute of Technology on Saturday.

Kalamazoo fell behind early and trailed by only two (21-19) midway through the first half before entering the break down 47-36.

Kalamazoo trailed by as many as 15 points early in the second half and trailed by 12 (73-61) with 8:12 remaining. The Hornets scored the next eight points to cut the deficit to four (73-69) with 4:13 remaining, but were unable to get any closer as time expired.

IIT shot 48.4 percent overall while sinking 8-of-17 3-pointers. Kalamazoo shot 42.9 percent and hit 2-of-12 3's. Kalamazoo held a 38-35 advantage in rebounds.

Josh Miller led five Hornets in double figures with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Adam Dykema scored 13 points with six rebounds while Jason Hugan scored 12 points off the bench.

Josh Whitney scored 12 points with six rebounds and three assists. Chase Baysdell finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Kalamazoo returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Bluffton.
