Men's Basketball falls to John Carroll

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team dropped the second game of its weekend back-to-back by a score of 103-65 to the visitors from John Carroll.

The Hornets jumped out to a 12-2 lead four minutes into the game behind a strong defensive start and led throughout the first seven minutes of the contest. The Blue Streaks began to find their stroke from outside as the first half progressed, making eight three-pointers to take a 58-37 lead at the half.

John Carroll continued to push the tempo in the second half, shooting 46.8 percent overall on its way to a second 100 point game of the weekend. The Blue Streaks were led Ryan Berger who had 16 points on 6-8 shooting from the field.

As a team, Kalamazoo shot 36.5 percent from the floor and 30 percent from three point range. The Hornets were led offensively by KaLeif Gaines who scored 10 points and also recorded six rebounds. Tanner Blyly had eight points, six assists, and three steals in 30 minutes of action. Off the bench, Jeremiah Vincent chipped in seven points, six rebounds, and three blocks. 

K will again be at home on Wednesday, Nov. 29 as the Hornets host Bluffton at 7:30 p.m.
