Men's Basketball loses to Trine

Kalamazoo men's basketball team.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team fell by a score of 74-57 at home to Trine on Saturday afternoon.

Trine led throughout the game, pulling ahead for good midway through the first half with a 13-2 run to stretch their lead to double digits. By the four minutes into the second half the Thunder had a 20 point advantage and Kalamazoo was unable to make a significant dent in that lead in the remainder of the game. 

Kalamazoo connected on 40.4 percent of its field goal attempts, but Trine shot even better, hitting 46.4 percent of its shots from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc.

Trine's Pete Smith finished with 33 points on 11-13 shooting, including 6-6 in the first half, from the behind the arc.

Kalamazoo was led by Jimmy Paprocki, who finished with 15 points, and Ben Reiter, who finished with 10 points and six rebounds.

The Hornets will travel to Adrian on Wednesday, January 24th for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
