Men's Basketball comes up short at Albion

ALBION, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team came up three points short in a 70-67 loss at Albion College on Wednesday.

The first half was close throughout with the Hornets trailing by just five (34-29) three minutes before the break. The host Britons closed out the half with a 5-2 run to take an eight point lead into halftime (39-31).

Back-to-back 3-pointers by Ben Reiter gave Kalamazoo a 45-43 lead with 14:41 left in the second half. Several lead changes later Albion was back on top 55-53 at the 7:23 mark, and the Britons held on for the three point win.

Kalamazoo shot 53.2 percent overall compared to 44.4 percent for Albion, but the Britons were able to take 16 more shots in the game leading to the three point difference. Albion outrebounded Kalamazoo 31-28, including 12-3 on the offensive end.

Ben Reiter led Kalamazoo with 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting including four 3's. 

Jimmy Paprocki finished with 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Roger Hood scored 10 points with seven rebounds while Jack Smith added 10 points with four assists. Tanner Blyly scored eight points and also had four assists.

Kalamazoo returns to action this Saturday, Feb. 10 at Calvin College.
