ANGOLA, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 74-63 at Trine University on Saturday.
The host Thunder led 42-28 at halftime. Kalamazoo began mounting a comeback midway through the second half and eventually cut the deficit to five points (66-61) with 1:30 remaining, but could not get any closer as time expired.
Trine shot 42.6 percent overall while making 25-of-30 free throws. Kalamazoo shot 40 percent overall while going 11-of-16 at the line.
Tanner Blyly scored a career-high 27 points with six rebounds, three steals, and two assists. He scored 24 points in the second half.
Tre Humes and Jeremiah Vincent each scored eight points with Vincent also pulling down six rebounds.
Ben Reiter and Merritt Hamann both scored five points with four rebounds.
Kalamazoo returns home to take on Adrian on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m.
