Reiter's 24 Points Leads Kalamazoo Over Calvin

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team was victorious over Calvin College on Saturday afternoon by a score of 77-72. 

It was a back-and-forth game this afternoon as there were seven lead changes in just the first half. The score was also tied four different times in the first 20 minutes. 

The Hornets, who led by as many as eight points in the half, took a one point lead into the locker room. 

The second half was more of the same story as the two teams shared leads. Kalamazoo gained an offensive edge from the free throw line late in the game to take the victory. 

Kalamazoo ended the game shooting 43.9 percent from the field (25-57) and 42.9 percent from behind the arc (6-14). The Hornets connected on 21 of 26 free throw attempts.

Ben Reiter led Kalamazoo with a game-high 24 points and eight rebounds. The junior knocked down 13 of 14 free throws. 

Jeremiah Vincent added 11 points and five rebounds. 

Kalamazoo will return to play on Wednesday, Feb. 13 when it hosts Trine at 7:30 p.m.
