Men's Basketball Topped by Trine

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team fell to Trine on Wednesday evening by a final score of 67-57.

It was a closely contested game this evening as both teams' defenses tended to outplay the offense in the first half. The Hornets held the Thunder to an eight for 30 clip from the field in the half and only allowed three of 13 three-point attempts to fall. 

Kalamazoo took a 24-21 lead into the halftime break. Neither team led by more than seven points. 

Trine found its groove on the offensive end in the second half. The Thunder outscored Kalamazoo 46-33 in the half as the Hornets were unable to convert down the stretch. 

The Hornets finished the game shooting 36.9 percent from the floor. Kalamazoo converted on three of 21 three-pointers. 

Ben Reiter led the way on the offensive end by scoring 14 points for Kalamazoo. 

Drake Thompson and Tanner Blyly each added 10 points. Thompson collected a team-high eight rebounds. 

Kalamazoo will conclude its season on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Adrian College. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 2 p.m.
