Men's Basketball falls by three at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost its season finale 80-77 at Adrian College on Saturday.

Kalamazoo led by as many as nine points in the first half (40-31) before taking a 42-35 lead into halftime.

Adrian pulled ahead five minutes into the second half and led by eight points (61-53) with 9:18 remaining.

Kalamazoo regained the lead (64-63) with 6:13 left, but the Bulldogs scored eight straight points to go up 71-64.

The Hornets battled back and trailed by three with 28 seconds left, but a Kalamazoo missed 3-pointer forced the Hornets to foul. Kalamazoo made it 79-77 with a 3-pointer in the closing seconds, but a made free throw followed by a miss sealed the win for the Bulldogs.

Kalamazoo shot 45.3 percent overall compared to 42.9 percent for Adrian. Kalamazoo was 19-of-26 at the free throw line while Adrian made 17-of-21. Kalamazoo held a 39-33 advantage in rebounds, but the Hornets turned the ball over 14 times compared to just eight for Adrian.

Ben Reiter matched his career-high with 28 points while hitting six 3-pointers.

Jeremiah Vincent scored 17 points with seven rebounds. Bass Ollie scored 11 points with seven rebounds.

Drake Thompson added eight points with a team-high nine rebounds.
