ANGOLA, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team dropped its game at Trine University on Wednesday evening 86-69.

After trading baskets for much of the first half, the Thunder took a 37-33 lead into the halftime break. The Hornets got on the board first in the second half to cut the deficit to just one point. Trine, however, answered with a 7-0 run shortly after to take the lead that it would hold for the remainder of the game.

Kalamazoo connected on 24 of its 57 shot attempts and five of 21 three-pointers. The team also made 16 out of 20 free-throw attempts.

The Hornets out-rebounded Trine 39-35 and held a 36-30 advantage in points in the paint.

Tanner Blyly led Kalamazoo with 12 points, six assists, and six rebounds.

Ben Reiter also tallied 12 points as the senior secured eight rebounds.

Tre Humes, Jack Smith, and Jarnard Smith each scored 10 points.

The Hornets return to action on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Adrian College. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 3 p.m.
