DJ Courtney was selected as the SAAC Men's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday, Dec. 27.
A sophomore from Miami, Fla. (Christopher Columbus), Courtney averaged 22.5 points, 5 assists and 5.5 rebounds in a pair of home games last week.
In a 108-59 win over Finlandia on Wednesday, Courtney led the Hornets with 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting with seven assists, five rebounds, two steals and zero turnovers. Courtney followed that up the next day with a career-high 27 points, six rebounds and three assists in a loss to DePauw, shooting 10-of-17 with 4-of-8 three's and 3-for-3 free throws.
On the season, Courtney is averaging 10.0 points per game, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists, while shooting 39.1 percent from the field and 34.1 percent from three-point range.
The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team is off until Jan. 4 when the Hornets start MIAA play at home against Alma.
