The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team was featured in the department's fourth edition of the summer's Top Moment Thursday from the 2022-23 season.
The Hornets battled back and forth with the Bulldogs, looking to secure their first conference win of the season. Down by three with three seconds left, Kalamazoo came out of a timeout with a play drawn up for DJ Courtney, and he responded with a banked-in three-pointer at the buzzer to send the game to overtime. Then in the first extra session, Adrian had a chance to push the lead to four but missed the free throw, and Courtney again dribbled the length of the floor, crossed over his opponent, and hit another three with a couple of seconds left to force a second overtime. After a missed three by the Bulldogs, Courtney played distributor this time as he found Josh Decker on the wing with a pump fake allowing him space to hit the go-ahead three with two seconds remaining.
