Gabriel Sharp of the Kalamazoo College men's basketball team was named the SAAC Men's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday (Jan. 30).
Kalamazoo continued its MIAA schedule with two road games at Adrian on Jan. 24 and Olivet on Jan. 27. The Hornets went 1-1 on the week with a 75-66 loss to the Britons and an 85-66 win over the Comets.
Sharp scored a career-high 27 points off the bench against Olivet after going 3 of 6 from beyond the arc and 12 of 13 from the free throw line. He averaged 14.5 points in the two games while playing 10.0 minutes per game. On the season, Sharp has come off the bench in 17 games and averages 9.5 points in 12.2 minutes of action. He is shooting 38.8% from the field, 30.3% from three, and 77.6% from the free throw line.
The Hornets will continue MIAA play with a road game at Albion on Wednesday (Jan. 31) and a home game against Hope on Saturday (Feb. 3).
