PORTAGE, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's golf team finished sixth at the inaugural Steven L Tyler Intercollegiates at The Moors on Monday.

The event honors the memory of former Kalamazoo College coach Steven Tyler.

"Today was not so much about competitive golf but celebrating the life of a person who enjoyed golf, life and people," said Kalamazoo Head Coach Mitch Wilson. "Steve had a great impact in the Kalamazoo community and our college, and the players really responded with respect today. We are so thankful to Mary Tyler and the Tyler-Little Foundation for sponsoring the event."

Kalamazoo College shot 339 as a team to finish sixth out of 13 teams. The Hornets trailed Division III foes Hope, Calvin and Trine while defeating Olivet and Albion.

Tibin John led Kalamazoo with a round of 82. Phil Ritchie was right behind at 83.

"Tibin [John] had a great bounce back today after struggling last week at Warwick Hills," Wilson said. "The conditions were tough with some very firm greens and swirling winds that affected the entire field."

Agron Ziberi and Scott Manski rounded out the top four as each shot an 87.
