Kalamazoo College's Phil Ritchie was named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week on Monday.
A junior from Novi, Mich., Ritchie posted a second-place finish at the Anderson Fall Invitational last weekend to help the Hornets claim the overall team title. He notched a 72 on Saturday to give Kalamazoo a school record daily total of 295. Ritchie added a 74 on the final day of the tournament to card a 36-hole total of 146 strokes and tie for second overall.
Earlier in the week, Ritchie finished one stroke off of the lead with a 75 at the Medalist Golf Course to tie for fourth overall at the first MIAA Jamboree of the season.
Kalamazoo returns to action with an MIAA Jamboree hosted by Olivet at Bedford Valley on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
