"Men's Golf sixth in final MIAA Jamboree; Finishes fourth overall"
The Kalamazoo College men's golf team finished sixth at the final MIAA Jamboree of the fall on Tuesday, but more importantly held on to the fourth spot in the final season standings earning the team's first ever trip to the conference's spring tournament which determines the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA III Championships.
Kalamazoo shot 306 on Tuesday, just four strokes behind Adrian for fourth place, but unofficially kept the Hornets 19 strokes ahead of the Bulldogs for fourth place in the final team standings.
David Smith led Kalamazoo with a 73 on Tuesday while Travis Veenhuis shot a 74.
Nick Ludka (78) and Nick Marsh (81) rounded out the top four for Kalamazoo.
In Coach Mitch Wilson's fourth year, Kalamazoo's fourth place finish is the program's best since a third place finish in 1993.
