Kalamazoo College's Nick Ludka and Travis Veenhuis were named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America Wednesday.

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

Both players were also named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll with 3.5 GPAs or higher.

Ludka and Veenhuis are the first Kalamazoo College juniors to achieve this recognition. They join Phil Ritchie '17 as the only three honorees in school history.

Travis Veenhuis led the Hornets this season with a 74.7 average. He broke the school record with a round of 65 at Rose-Hulman this spring while earning MIAA Player of the Week honors.

Nick Ludka averaged 76.3 this season while shooting 70 at both Bedford Valley and Pine River.

Coached by Mitch Wilson, the Hornets finished fourth in the MIAA this past season while also posting the lowest team score in school history during a match at Rose-Hulman this spring.
