KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College Athletic Leadership Council announced Tuesday that Jackson Jones of the men's golf team was the recipient of Hornet of the Week this week.
Jones, a sophomore from Bloomfield Hills, Mich. (Seaholm HS), finished as a medalist at the Tyler Intercollegiate that was hosted by Kalamazoo at The Moors last Monday. Jones shot a one-under 71 to lead Kalamazoo to a first place finish. This was Jones' first win of his collegiate career.
To finish the week, Jones finished tied for eighth at the Shootout at Stonehedge by posting a 77 on Friday and a 74 on Saturday. Jones and the Hornets finished in third place.
This marks the second time Jones has been named Hornet of the Week by the ALC. Jones was also named MIAA Player of the Week for his efforts.
Jones and the Hornets are scheduled to be back in action Tuesday, April 16 at Calvin.
