KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's golf team finished second at an MIAA Jamboree at the Kalamazoo Country Club on Monday.

Kalamazoo shot 300 as a team, just one stroke behind Hope for first place. The Hornets moved into third place overall on the season entering this weekend's fall finish.

Jackson Jones tied for second overall leading the Hornets with a 73, one stroke behind the medalist.

Parker Pickell came in at 74 while Mathew Holmes-Hackerd (76) and Will Mierz (77) rounded out the top four.

The Hornets will wrap up the conference season Friday and Saturday at the MIAA Fall Finish at Forest Akers in East Lansing. The four teams with the lowest cumulative scores through the four MIAA Jamborees and this weekend's fall finish advance to the MIAA's spring NCAA III Qualifying Tournament.

"We had really strong play again today by Jackson and Parker," said Head Coach Mitch Wilson. "I'm also really proud of what our seniors did today with a great showing in their last home conference tournament.

"We are looking forward to the final tournament this weekend at Forest Akers and securing a spot in the spring qualifier."
