Men's Lacrosse tripped up by Trine

Brandon Wright playing lacrosse.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team's two game conference winning streak was snapped Wednesday as the Hornets fell 14-3 to Trine at MacKenzie Field.

The game was tight early as Brandon Wright scored in the first period for K and Trine took a 2-1 lead into the second quarter. The Thunder, however, opened the second quarter with three straight goals to jump ahead 5-2.

Coming out of the half leading 6-2, Trine picked up right were it had left off in the second half as the team outscored K 8-1 in the half to go home with the victory.

Kalamazoo actually outshot Trine 26-24 in the contest, but the Thunder were extremely efficient, placing 19 of their shots on frame.

Brandon Wright scored all three of the Kalamazoo goals in the contest, bringing his team-leading total to 21 on the year. Zach Morales continued his strong play in the midfield with eight ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Tim Grobosky took the loss for K, making four saves in three quarters of work.

The Hornets will play next at Albion on Saturday, April 21st at 1 p.m.
