Men's Lacrosse Wins Season Opener at UM-Dearborn

BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team won its season opener 16-12 at the University of Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday at the Detroit Country Day Fieldhouse.

Kalamazoo scored the first two goals of the game and never trailed in the game. The Hornets led 4-1 after the first quarter and 8-5 at halftime. Kalamazoo extended its lead to 14-9 at the end of three and led 16-10 with 6:39 remaining before a pair of Wolverine goals in the final five minutes led to the 16-12 final.

Kalamazoo outshot Dearborn 52-40.

Dylan McGorisk led the Hornets with five goals and an assist while taking 11 shots.

Jack Loveland scored three goals with two assists.

Brandon Wright, Harrison Ramsey, and Jack Jesko each scored twice. Jack Smith also scored a goal and was credited with two assists.

Ramsey led the team with seven ground balls.

Nate Silverman made 16 saves in goal.

Kalamazoo is back in action Sunday, Feb. 23 again at Detroit Country Day facing Concordia University.
