Logan Gillis of the Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team was named the SAAC Men's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday (Mar. 5).
Kalamazoo continued the 2024 season with another road game at Benedictine on Mar. 2. The Hornets won their first game of 2024 in a 20-14 finish over the Eagles.
Gillis was an All-MIAA Second Team selection last season for the Hornets as a forward and has transitioned to the midfield this season. That move paid dividends this past game as Gillis set a new single-game program record for points in a game at 11. He scored five goals and had six assists on the offensive end. Those are career-high marks in all three categories for Gillis.
In 31 career games, Gillis has scored 48 goals and dished out 34 assists for 82 points while also collecting 50 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. He currently sits fourth in assists, fifth in points, and sixth in goals on the Kalamazoo men's lacrosse career leaderboard.
The Hornets will continue non-conference play with another road game at Benedictine on Saturday (Mar. 2).
