Men's Lacrosse Defeated by Albion

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team was defeated 13-5 by Albion College at MacKenzie Field on Tuesday night.

Albion scored two goals in the first four minutes and led 3-0 at the end of the first quarter. Kalamazoo trailed 4-2 with 9:46 left in the second quarter, 6-2 with 6:08 left, and 7-2 at halftime.

Kalamazoo made it 7-3 early in the third quarter, but three Briton goals gave Albion a 10-3 lead at the end of three. Kalamazoo got within six (11-5) with 6:08 left in the fourth before Albion wrapped it up with a pair of goals to make it 13-5.

Albion outshot Kalamazoo 48-31 overall, 24-22 on goal. Albion held an 11-10 edge in faceoffs won.

Logan Gillis led the Hornets with two goals. Sam Hughes, Jake Asnis and Eli Routt each scored a goal.

Jack Bungart led the Hornets with seven ground balls. Hughes and Dylan Wickey each had six. JJ Ohren-Hoeft had four ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

Wickey made 11 saves in goal.

Kalamazoo returns to action on Saturday, April 13, at Calvin.
