Hornets lose tough one to Ohio Northern

Noah Bushaw playing soccer.

The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team was defeated by No. 20 Ohio Northern on Friday night 1-0. The loss was especially tough as the Hornets had plenty of opportunities to score and the Polar Bears didn't score until the 85th minute.

The Hornets came very close to scoring in the game's first ten minutes when senior Werner Roennecke struck a ball right off the post. Kalamazoo had seven shots on goal compared to Ohio Northern's four and the Hornets also controlled possession for the majority of the game.

It looked like Kalamazoo was going to take the lead in the second half off a header from Roennecke, but unfortunately Ohio Northern's keeper made a great save.

Senior goalkeeper Beau Prey was fantastic for Kalamazoo again with three saves including an amazing one handed save late in the game.

The Hornets are now 2-2 this season and will look to get back above .500 tomorrow night at home against Elmhurst.
