KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team defeated Hope College 2-0 in the MIAA Tournament semifinals at MacKenzie Field on Wednesday.

Kalamazoo is the two seed in the tournament while Hope was the three seed, and it was the third time this season that the Hornets defeated the Flying Dutchmen.

Kalamazoo got on the board early with a goal in the seventh minute by Jacob Waier.

Waier gave Kalamazoo a little cushion with his second goal of the game in the 59th minute. The goals were Waier's first two of the season.

Kalamazoo outshot Hope 17-11 overall, but both teams had eight shots on goal. Beau Prey saved all eight to earn the shutout.

Kalamazoo now travels to top seed Calvin College on Saturday for a 2:30 p.m. championship game. The winner earns the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championships.
