Prey, Veillette earn All-Region honors

Kalamazoo College's Beau Prey and Jordan Veillette earned 2014 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-Central Region honors as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America this week. Veillette was selected to the All-Central Region Second Team while Prey was a Third Team selection.

Veillette was previously selected to the All-MIAA First Team while Prey was an All-MIAA Second Team selection.

Veillette, a junior defender from Bloomfield Hills Roeper High School in Lake Orion, started all 21 games and was a leader on the Hornets' backline. His defensive efforts won him MIAA defensive player of the week during the sixth week of the season. Veillette also added one goal and three assists on offense.

Prey, a senior goalkeeper from Milford High School, started in 20 of Kalamazoo's 21 games and his 0.99 goals against average in league play was the second best in the MIAA. Prey also posted five league play shutouts, which was also good enough for second best in the MIAA. His outstanding play in the MIAA tournament won him MIAA defensive player of the week (week 11). Prey had 85 saves this season which is the second most in Hornet history. Last season he had 73 saves which tied him for fifth and he finishes his career as a Hornet with 179 saves.

Kalamazoo College finished the season 12-6-3 overall and in second place in the MIAA with a 9-4-1 league record. The Hornets were knocked out of the MIAA tournament championship in a shootout.
