Kalamazoo College's Jacob Waier was named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
A sophomore from Grand Blanc, Mich., Waier anchored the Hornet defense in a scoreless draw against DePauw on Saturday. The Hornet defense held undefeated DePauw to just six shots on goal in the match. Waier started on defense but did fire a shot on goal in his only attempt on the offensive end.
Kalamazoo returns to action at Olivet College on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 4 p.m.
