Kalamazoo College's Cal Kirchen was selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's men's soccer offensive player of the week on Monday.
A junior from Ann Arbor, Mich., Kirchen posted 13 points on five goals and three assists last week in a pair of conference victories at home. He recorded a hat trick on Tuesday with three goals against visiting Adrian and also added a pair of assists. Kirchen tallied two more scores, including the game winner, and a helper against Olivet on Saturday. He finished the week with five shots on goal and seven shot attempts.
Kalamazoo (7-4-1, 6-2 MIAA) returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Albion College.
