For the second time in the last three weeks, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association named Cal Kirchen the men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon.

Kirchen, who currently leads the MIAA with 14 goals and 33 points, added three more goals and one assist in two games this past week. On Oct. 20, Kirchen scored two goals including the game-winning goal in Kalamazoo's 3-2 win on the road at Hope College. Kirchen struck once again on Saturday, Oct. 24 when he scored with just 28 second remaining in regulation to lift the Hornets to a 2-1 win over Alma, which also secured a home playoff game for the Hornets in the MIAA Tournament.

He has 10 goals in the team's last six games and his 14 goals this season are the 23rd-most scored by any player in NCAA Division III thus far.

Kirchen and the Hornets will look to knock off Calvin College, who sit atop the MIAA table, this Wednesday, Oct. 28 in Kalamazoo. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
