Men's Soccer has three named All-Region

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Three Kalamazoo College men's soccer players were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Central Region third team this season for their play in 2015.

Senior Jordan Veillette and juniors Kyle Hernandez and Cal Kirchen eached received the honors.

Veillette, a centerback from Lake Orion, Mich., was the anchor of a backline which conceded just 1.07 goals per game. He also made his presence known in the attacking third, scoring three goals and assisting on one goal.

Veillette is making his second straight appearance as an All-Region selection.

Hernandez, a midfielder from Holland, Mich., was among the best midfielders in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association this season scoring five goals and recording six assists. He recorded one game-winning goal in a memorable performance at Olivet which ended with a hat trick.

Kirchen, a forward from Ann Arbor, Mich., led the MIAA in goals (14) and points (34) in 2015 and was Kalamazoo's most dangerous threat going forward. He recorded five game-winning goals and played a stretch of six straight games with at least one goal from Oct. 6 to Oct. 24.

All three Hornets were also named All-MIAA first team selections at the conclusion of the 2015 season.
