KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Kyle Hernandez of the Kalamazoo College men's soccer team was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Men's Scholar All-Central Region first team on Thursday, Dec. 17.
Hernandez, who's double majoring in economics and psychology with a 3.79 grade point average, played a key role in midfield throughout the year for the Hornets as they finished second overall in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. He recorded five goals and six assists.
2015 marks the first year Hernandez is being honored by the NSCAA for his academic achievements regionally.
Hernandez has been named to the MIAA's Academic Honor Roll in each of the past two seasons.
He was selected first team All-MIAA and third team All-Central Region at the conclusion of the 2015 season for his play on the field.
