Three Hornets earn All-MIAA honors

Cal Kirchen, Kyle Hernandez, and Josh Robison

Three members of the Kalamazoo College men's soccer teams were awarded All-MIAA honors as selected by the league coaches on Monday.

Cal Kirchen and Kyle Hernandez earned All-MIAA First Team honors while Joshua Robison was named to the Second Team.

Kirchen, a senior forward from Ann Arbor, Mich. (Community HS), earned All-MIAA First Team honors for the second consecutive season. He shared the league lead in goals in conference games (7) while tying for second with 15 points. Kirchen was named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season (Oct. 10).

Hernandez, a senior midfielder from Holland, Mich. (Holland HS), also earned All-MIAA First Team honors for the second consecutive season. He was an All-MIAA Second Team selection as a sophomore. Hernandez tied for sixth in the league with five goals in conference play while recording 11 points overall.

Robison, a senior midfielder from Okemos, Mich. (Okemos HS), garnered All-MIAA Second Team honors for the second time in his career (2013) after starting all 17 games this season and recording two assists. He was an All-MIAA First Team selection last season.

Kalamazoo finished fifth in the MIAA this season with a 6-5-3 record (6-6-5 overall).
