Men's Soccer Wins at Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team won 7-0 at Manchester University Wednesday afternoon.

Kalamazoo got off to a fast start when Matt Turton scored the game's first goal just 2:02 into the game (Aidan Hurley assist).

Dahwi Kim made it 2-0 with a goal just over a minute later at the 3:07 mark. Tony Yazbeck scored 49 seconds later to make it 3-0.

Kalamazoo's three goals in 1:54 ties for the ninth-fastest time for three consecutive goals by the same team in NCAA III history.

Gold Afolabi scored in the seventh minute and Aidan Gillig scored in the 41st minute (Dahwi Kim assist) to give Kalamazoo a 5-0 lead heading into halftime.

Ben Meschke got on the board in the 54th minute (Gold Afolabi assist) and Dahwi Kim scored again in the 80th minute (Justin Schodowski assist) to put the Hornets up 7-0.

Kalamazoo outshot Manchester 15-8 overall including 12-3 on goal.

Luke Kastran made three saves in goal in the first half. Christopher DeVito and Sean Ellis split time in goal in the second half to preserve the shutout.

Kalamazoo is back in action Saturday, Sept. 7 at Defiance.
