Men's Soccer Defeated by Calvin

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season on Thursday night against Calvin. The battle between two undefeated teams in the MIAA ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Hornets. 

The Knights got on the board first with a goal in the 43rd minute followed up quickly by a successful goal off a corner kick with four seconds left to play in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into the break. 

Kalamazoo got on the board five minutes into the second half when Ben Meschke scored his fourth goal of the season. Neither team was able to score again for the next 40 minutes to give Calvin the win. 

Kalamazoo registered nine shots compared to 13 by Calvin, while both teams had four shots on goal attempted.  

Goalie Luke Kastran earned two saves while allowing two goals. 

The Hornets (4-1) are scheduled to play at Hope on April 16 at 7 p.m.
