KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving dropped a meet to the Britons of Albion College by a score of 157-137 Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Kalamazoo College Natatorium.

Dylan Shearer won the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 58.66. The event was K's first finished atop the leaderboard after finishing runner-up in the first four events of the afternoon.

"Dylan [Shearer] swam a strong race that was just off the pool record," Kalamazoo Head Coach Kathy Milliken said. "That is the fastest time he has had in season in his career."

The Hornets finished in the top two spots in the 200 yard butterfly. Tyler Fisher won the race with a time of 2:00.48 while his teammate, Michael Allen, finished with a time of 2:09.17.

Kalamazoo dominated the diving portion, placing first and second. Elliot Littman and Doug McNabb finished first and second respectively.

Kevin Ewing won the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:01.88, three and a half seconds faster than the second place finisher. The next event, K placed second, third, and fourth in the 200 yard breaststroke. Shearer finished just .03 seconds behind winner Matt Hooper.

In the 100 yard butterfly, Fisher took first place with a time of 53.16 while Tyler McFarland finished in second.

"We will use this meet as an opportunity to get stronger and realize what our weaknesses are," said Milliken.

The Hornets return to action Saturday, Nov. 9, when they host the Flying Dutchmen of Hope College for a 1:00 p.m. meet.
