Men's Swimming competes in final day of 2013 Calvin Winter Invitational

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team competed in the final day of the 2013 Calvin Winter Invitational inside Calvin's Venema Aquatic Center.

Kalamazoo began the day finishing third in the 200 Medley relay, losing out to two teams from Division II Grand Valley State. The Hornet team of Cameron Wasko, Jake Lindquist, Tyler Fisher, and Dylan Shearer turned in a time of 1:37.86.

In the 200 Backstroke, Wasko earned a top eight finish with a time of 1:58.43 while Tyler Fisher finished sixth in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 51.15.

Dylan Shearer swam a 2:04.52 in the 200 Breaststroke which earned him a third place finish. Jake Lindquist was just behind his teammate and placed fourth.

"We kept getting better each day, and today was our best day as far as personal bests," Kalamazoo Head Coach Kathy Milliken said. "We had some of our best swims of the season today – something to build off of as we head to Florida for our training trip."

For the weekend, Lindquist and Shearer each earned B-Cut times in the 100 Breaststroke and 200 Breaststroke. In addition, Elliot Littman on both diving events and achieved an A-Cut score in the 3-Meter Diving event.
